The modules at a glance

First the foundation, then the road.

Module 1 — security officer · 640 UE

  • IHK Sachkunde exam § 34a GewO
  • Weapons expertise under § 7 WaffG (optional, see note)
  • Operational competence — self-defence and personal protection (EZN)
  • Intervention officer under VdS — alarm response, site inspection
  • Company work placement: 4 weeks / 160 hours

Module 2 — patrol driver · 200 UE

  • Driving theory and practice in a security context
  • Driver safety training for response drives
  • Patrol planning, route optimisation, navigation
  • Deployment documentation and radio communication

Important rule

The driving licence starts after Module 1.

Acquiring class B can only begin once Module 1 has been successfully completed — that is, after passing the IHK exam § 34a and the intervention officer exam. If you already have the driving licence, you only complete the practical driving parts of Module 2 and finish considerably faster.

Note on weapons expertise

No automatic entitlement.

There is no automatic entitlement to take part in the weapons expertise training. Admission is decided solely by the respective weapons expertise trainer after an individual assessment.
